Title:
networkmanager - opening a hotspot - wireless security impossible
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
I am using Ubuntu 12.04 amd64 with all latest update.
The bug scenario is the following:
I connect to the internet via. mobile phone network (with the integrated
mobile broadband modem) and I
add a wireless connection with the settings
Mode: Ad-hoc
Wireless Security: WPA & WPA2 Personal
IPv4 Settings: Method: Shared to other computers.
I can join this created hotspot from other notebooks and internet is working
fine
BUT I can enter ANY PASSWORD and it works.
So there is a major security issue.
Regards,
Arthur
