I've just tried to connect to a webdavs URL in Ubuntu 11.10 and I get the same results as reported above: attempting to enter a folder makes it appear as a file (after the "moved permanently" error), but using the list view and expanding the tree shows the contents of a folder.
I've seen this behaviour in GNOME in Debian Squeeze, so I'm guessing that the GNOME people didn't manage to fix the bug after all. KDE 3.x and Windows XP manage to access the same resource without any difficulties. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/314044 Title: WebDav support in Nautilus broken Status in GVFS: Fix Released Status in “gvfs” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Version: Ubuntu 8.04/8.10 (lastest updates) I'm able to connect to a WebDavs (SSL) folder via Nautilus, I can see the content of the root folder, but I'm not able to navigate into subfolders (when I double click a subdir I obtain: "Error: HTTP Error: Moved Permanently. Please select another viewer and try again."). I tried to connect to the webdavs folder with either trough "Connect to Server" (via custom location) and Nautilus location bar. (ie. davs://mywebdavserver.com) The odd thing is that if once the connection is established I switch the Nautilus view to List, I'm able to browse the content of the subdirectories (and even copy file from any subfolder to the local system) expanding the tree by clicking the little triangle on the left of subfolders. If I try to access subdirectories by double click on them or writing the full location I get the error above. I get the error if I try to upload a file into a subdirectory using drag and drop in List view. (uploading works fine if I upload to the root directory thought). I get the error if I try to download a whole subdirectory instead of a single file. The webdav folder is managed by apache with mod_dav. It used to work properly with Debian sid and still works in Ubuntu via cadaver. I'm willing to provide further information if needed.
