Well, that file should never have been touched. The change is just the
color of the progress bar in the startup screen. In 3.4 that was patched
in the source before the build in 3.5 it is directly set via
./configure. No maintainer script changes there AFAIK.

Also with 3.5.0-2ubuntu1 we have a Ubuntu-colored progress bar again, so
there is not even a change anymore. Was there maybe a LibreOffice build
from a PPA used?

Title:
Debconf prompt for /etc/libreoffice/sofficerc when upgrading to
  precise

Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
When upgrading from 11.10 to 12.04 I encountered a debconf prompt for
/etc/libreoffice/sofficerc. It prompts me to keep the old, customized
conffile or replace it with the new one. I ahve not modified this
file, and I believe the debconf prompt should not appear. Instead I
think we might have some broken conffile handling somewhere in
  libreoffice.

The sofficerc file has not been touched in quite awhile, and I am fairly
certain I have never modified it by hand:
  -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 152 Aug 24 2010 /etc/libreoffice/sofficerc

  Diff of old to new:

I checked another system running 11.10, and the values in sofficerc are
identical to the original version here, so presumably that system would be
affected on upgrade too. Both systems I checked had OO.o installed as part of
the original OS load, which was either 8.04 (this system) or10.10 (the other
system I checked).

The md5sum of the original file on both 11.10 systems is:
