apperantly it is not just network connection... because now I have a wired network connection and here is the jockey log
I included multiverse and univers and apt-get updated in attempt to resolve it, so I tried it with network, and with more repositories activated. I wast rying to install broadcom sta drivers ** Attachment added: "the jockey log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jockey/+bug/943074/+attachment/2792996/+files/jockey.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to jockey in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/943074 Title: install aditional drivers on 12.04 kubuntu needs to detect dependancies first Status in “jockey” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: On my netbook, once I managed to get to a regular KDE desktop, I clicked on the install aditional drivers to get my broadcom wifi working. 11.10 had this working/ an option to install aditional non free software.... if I recall. anyway, the big bug here is jockey kept grinding away, and got up to 75 percent complete on it's status bar (maybe 10 minutes) and said it didn't work. Then, I accidentally unplugged the liveusb drive instead of the power cord, so I lost the jockey error message that I was going to transfer over ethernet. anyway, jockey should check for internet connection, and should not progress the status bar if that does not work. Ideally, it would be best to have these packages on the iso image so we can connect to the network, because... I don't have a wired ethernet network connection!!!
