Title:
  javascript popups prevent closing tab

Status in The Mozilla Firefox Browser:
  Fix Released
Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: firefox

If you land on an annoying site that constantly spams a javascript
alert box on loop, it is impossible to close the associated tab,
forcing the user to kill firefox and restart.

You should be able to close a tab even if a javascript alert box is
  open.
