Public bug reported: I have LightDM 1.0.6-0ubuntu1.2 installed on a minimal Oneiric system. There is a /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter-ubuntu.conf file, containing the following:
[greeter] background=/usr/share/backgrounds/warty-final-ubuntu.png The named background file does not exist. (Not even the /usr/share/backgrounds/ directory is present on this system.) When LightDM starts up, the background is set to a strong magenta color (looks like #FF00FF) that is ugly as sin. A more attractive fallback (black? grey?) would be helpful, and better care should be taken in the configuration not to name a missing file in the first place. ** Affects: lightdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to lightdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/932523 Title: Missing background image = ugly background color Status in “lightdm” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I have LightDM 1.0.6-0ubuntu1.2 installed on a minimal Oneiric system.
