> I should be told what's inhibiting the suspend, and have the option to override it
I agree, yes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2127853 Title: Suspend silently doesn't work if apps inhibit it Status in GNOME Shell: New Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I upgraded my plucky laptop to questing, and noticed that the "suspend" action from the power menu just doesn't work. Nothing visually happens, no suspend is triggered. At most I see this in dmesg, as if I had triggered an hibernation action: [Thu Oct 16 22:58:15 2025] Lockdown: systemd-logind: hibernation is restricted; see man kernel_lockdown.7 I'm unsure in which package this bug is, so I selected gnome-shell because that's where the menu option is. I can suspend if I do "sudo systemctl suspend -i".
