Additional info:

for those that _do_ use the split-left and split-right, a new "feature"
was introduced in the tiling manager, a popup after you move one window
to the side with <Super><Left> or <Super><Right> [1].

Nobody likes popups.

To disable that:

$ gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.tiling-assistant enable-
tiling-popup false

Alternately,

$ gnome-extensions list --enabled
$ gnome-extensions disable [email protected]

Title:
  Overridding <Super>Left and <Super>Right do not work

Status in gnome-control-center package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Hello,

  I just installed Ubuntu 24.4 and set my favourite keyboard shortcuts.
  I want to use Super+Left and Super+Right to navigate between workspaces. I
disabled the "split view left" and "split view right" which I don't like at
all, and set "Move to workspace left" to Super+Left and "Move to workspace
right" to Super+Right.

  I rebooted the computer. Despite all of that, Super+Left still does
  the "split view left" thing, and ditto for Super+Right.

  How can I get those keyboard shortcuts to do what I want?

  Thank you,

    Fabrice
