Hello Mitchell, or anyone else affected,

Accepted ubuntu-drivers-common into noble-proposed. The package will
build now and be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-drivers-
common/1:0.9.7.6ubuntu3.3 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
noble to verification-done-noble. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-noble. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

Bug description:
  Upstream patch: https://github.com/canonical/ubuntu-drivers-
  common/commit/2a56dab2b4dc6fe4e4c38d1d865623d2f8f4a775,
  https://github.com/canonical/ubuntu-drivers-
  common/commit/a7231c0d4d2f14569870c862bd2a1954d4f04cc7

  SRU Justification:

  [ Impact ]

The help text for the --gpgpu flag was improved in
https://launchpad.net/bugs/2081881, but it still did not capture the
fact that the ERD/gpgpu variant of the driver is required for some
  server applications.

  [ Fix ]

I have made the gpgpu flag help text more clear in
  https://github.com/canonical/ubuntu-drivers-
  common/commit/2a56dab2b4dc6fe4e4c38d1d865623d2f8f4a775 and
  https://github.com/canonical/ubuntu-drivers-
  common/commit/a7231c0d4d2f14569870c862bd2a1954d4f04cc7

  [ Test Plan ]

Ensure that the correct help text is shown when running `ubuntu-
  drivers -h`

[ Where problems could occur ]

This shouldn't introduce any functional issues within ubuntu-drivers itself,
since this is just a help text change.
(However, if some other application depends on the output of `ubuntu-drivers
-h`, this could introduced undefined behavior)
