Apparently this was actually the expected behavior, since new monthly channels
were created for the non-ESR releases.

Title:
latest/candidate snap went backwards from version 141.0-3 to
128.13.0esr-3
Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
1) The release of Ubuntu you are using: 25.04
2) The version of the package you are using: 141.0-3 snap
3) What you expected to happen: 'snap refresh' does not install older version
4) What happened instead: 'snap refresh' downgraded version to 128.13.0esr-3
On 23 July 2025, the latest/candidate channel of the thunderbird snap
version went to backwards from 141.0-3 to 128.13.0esr-3. Was this
intentional? I assume not since there is now a set of ESR channels,
and that the latest channels should follow the non-ESR path.
For now the workaround is to run 'snap revert thunderbird' to get back
to the 141.0-3 version.
