Public bug reported: When trying to upgrade from Ubuntu 22.04 to 24.04, I got the follow message and the upgrade aborted:
"Could not install '/tmp/apt-dpkg- install-09rM7W/00-thunderbird_2%3a1snap1-0ubuntu3_amd64.deb' The upgrade will continue but the '/tmp/apt-dpkg- install-09rM7W/00-thunderbird_2%3a1smap1-0ubuntu3_amd64.deb' package may not be in a working state. Please consider submitting a bug report about it. new thunderbird package pre-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1" I am currently running Ubuntu 24.04.2 and my Thunderbird is working perfectly (version 115.18.0+build1 from the Software Center: ubuntu- noble-main (deb)). But I cannot update any software. I get this error message: "Transaction failed: The package system is broken The following packages have unmet dependencies: thunderbird-locale-en: Depends: thunderbird (>= 2:1snap1-0ubuntu3) but 1:115.18.0+build1-0ubuntu0.22.04.1 is installed thunderbird-locale-en-us: Depends: thunderbird (>= 2:1snap1-0ubuntu3) but 1:115.18.0+build1-0ubuntu0.22.04.1 is installed thunderbird-locale-es: Depends: thunderbird (>= 2:1snap1-0ubuntu3) but 1:115.18.0+build1-0ubuntu0.22.04.1 is installed thunderbird-locale-es-es: Depends: thunderbird (>= 2:1snap1-0ubuntu3) but 1:115.18.0+build1-0ubuntu0.22.04.1 is installed" I don't know what to do. I want to upgrade to 24.04 with a perfectly functioning thunderbird (including all my mail archives, folders and accounts) but am stuck. Thank you for any advice. ** Affects: thunderbird (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to thunderbird in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2110328 Title: thunderbird failed to install during upgrade to 24.04 Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: When trying to upgrade from Ubuntu 22.04 to 24.04, I got the follow message and the upgrade aborted: "Could not install '/tmp/apt-dpkg- install-09rM7W/00-thunderbird_2%3a1snap1-0ubuntu3_amd64.deb' The upgrade will continue but the '/tmp/apt-dpkg- install-09rM7W/00-thunderbird_2%3a1smap1-0ubuntu3_amd64.deb' package may not be in a working state.
