  ^ character bugs the admin password window

Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I am trying to install new software from GNOME Software. When I enter
  my password, after entering the ^ character, it remains visible and
  the cursor jumps back to the start. I cannot enter any more characters
  after this.
