Title: package thunderbird 1:115.18.0+build1-0ubuntu0.22.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: new thunderbird package pre-installation script subprocess was killed by signal (Terminated) Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: While upgrading from 22.04 to 24.04, Thunderbird failed to install, hanging the entire upgrade process. It appeared that the process that was hanging was called "Frontend", so, using ps -ax, I found the Frontend process and killed it, which allowed the rest of the upgrade to complete. When I rebooted, I was presented with this screen asking for further information on what had happened.
