** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1900196 On-screen keyboard can't be disabled on touchscreen laptop -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2065582 Title: there is no way to disable the onscreen keyboard Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I have an XPS13 and am running Ubuntu in xorg because that is required for my Plover stenotype program. The program uses an external keyboard. I need the onscreen keyboard disabled, because I am using the plover keyboard to input information, but I cannot do it, either through Settings / Accessibility / Typing or trying various terminal entries suggested by chatgpt. (It suggests disabling onboard, but the program was not installed, and installing it and then disabling it did nothing.)
