Title:
games score records are wiped out by ubuntu upgrade

Status in gnome-mahjongg package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
this is applicable to all games (observed with at least mahjongg and sol).
when I upgrade ubuntu (e.g., from 17.04 to 17.10), the high score records are
wiped out.
this might be a one-time thing (going from unity to gnome) but it is still
extremely disconcerting.
