Upgraded 22.04 to 24.04 to a black screen... Xubuntu 22.04 5.15.0 was working fine with the Butterfly (kelebek333) nvidia-legacy package installed. Xubuntu 24.04 6.8.0 crashes on boot.
Output from journalctl: kernal stack frame pointer at [address] in nvidia-smi:798 has bad value I also get the crash booting with the old kernel (via grub advanced options). Not sure if that's helpful info. Nvidia Quadro FX 1800M (on a Precision M4500 that also wants to live forever) Happy to provide more detailed logs if useful. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-340 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1916640 Title: Nvidia 340.108 driver is not working newer kernel series than 5.10.x Status in nvidia-graphics-drivers-340 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: As usual I have opened this (no more) new bug report...
