When "Caps Lock" is on àèìòù should be written as ÀÈÌÒÙ... but for some reasons they are not capitalized. I've noticed that everything works fine using the Live session which still uses X11 session. It looks there's no problem with programs that use xwayland like Gimp and MarkText. WORKAROUND =========================== In "Settings -> Keyboard" it's possible to set a "compose key". For example I've selected the [Super left] key.
