Title:
11.10 new upgrade from 11.04 Screen will not come back on after screen
setting turns off screen.
Status in “gnome-power-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
in system settings, screen was set to turn off after 5 minutes. I can see
the mouse pointer moving against a dark background, but cannot get the desktop
back. Have to press power button and wait 60 seconds for shutdown then reboot.
Other than the fact that my machine does boot into 11.10, I cannot be sure
that the upgrade completed correctly as I walked away during upgrade from 11.04
ti 11.10, when I returned, screen was dark, mouse pointer visible but no other
info available.
I had to do a hard reset (power off) .
