Public bug reported: Ubuntu Cinnamon Desktop amd64 13.04 beta fails to boot after installing with LVM. The initramfs image and installed packages lack LVM support, so the root volume is not found.
On the other hand, the live CD image has LVM support and can fail to format a disk because of it. The live CD image activates LVM volumes and turns on all swap volumes including those on LVM. That causes failures when attempting to install onto a disk that already had LVM partitions. ** Affects: ubuntucinnamonproject Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Package changed: indicator-messages (Ubuntu) => ubuntucinnamonproject -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to indicator-messages in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2014222 Title: Ubuntu Cinnamon Desktop amd64 LVM install fails to boot Status in Ubuntu Cinnamon Project: New Bug description: Ubuntu Cinnamon Desktop amd64 13.04 beta fails to boot after installing with LVM.
