I have the same issue as Samuel. I can connect to the hotspot just fine, but the connected devices don't have access to internet.
Strangely enough I did find one workaround that fixes the problem for me in this answer: https://askubuntu.com/a/1444778 The -999 priority doesn't seem to matter, but if I set the hotspot to start automatically and then reboot, connected devices can access the internet.
