For anyone who comes here, note that the steps in comment 30 and comment 32 are completely unnecessary. Starting with Tb45, collapse all and expand all in Group By view work exactly as in Threaded view. The state is immediately persisted and remembered across folder exit/return and restart.
Also note: if the last action is expand all, and then all individual threads are collapsed, the state is still in expand all (for persistence); likewise with collapse all. There is no individual thread state persistence. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to thunderbird in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/803593 Title: "Grouped by Sort" view is not saved in Unified Folders Status in One Hundred Papercuts: Fix Released Status in Mozilla Thunderbird: Fix Released Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Hi, Sorting the email "By Sort" (i.e. by some date) does not work properly with the Unified Inbox folder. When I do: - Go to Unified/Inbox, set View->Sort By->Grouped By Sort. - Expand all by Ctrl-A - Navigate to another folder - Go back to the Unified Inbox At the last step, TB should remember that all the 'threads' had been expanded. Instead, they're all collapsed, which is inconsistent with the way it works with all other individual folders. IMHO, this makes this option unusable, as I have to expand the thread *every time*. This problem occurs in all Unified Folders. Individual account folders work as expected, i.e., they remember whether the thread was collapsed or not. Thanks.
