Thanks for the bug report. If you have been taking screenshots then high memory usage may be explained by bug 1973638.
If the problem is not caused by taking screenshots then please provide evidence of the high memory usage by running: ps aux | grep gnome-shell > shellps.txt and attach the resulting text file here. Finally, please also ensure there are no locally installed extensions by running: cd ~/.local/share/gnome-shell rm -rf extensions and then log in again. ** Tags added: gnome-shell-leak ** Information type changed from Public to Private ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1988755 Title: High memory usage of gnome-shell Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: My only 2 enabled gnome extensions are ubuntu-appindicat...@ubuntu.com & ubuntu-d...@ubuntu.com.
