*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1969243 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969243
I just did a fresh install of the official release 22.04 LTS image today, and hit this problem. No gear, and it defaults to X11, whether I have just the NVIDIA GPU enabled, or both the Intel integrated GPU and the NVIDIA discrete GPU enabled in hybrid mode. I had previously installed a nightly build of 22.04 LTS (beta) last week, and had the gear as an option, and was able to use Wayland. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969254 Title: wayland session not longer an option after recent update on Ubuntu 22.04 Status in gnome-session package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: After some recent update to Ubuntu 22.04 dev, X11 is selected by default and there is no longer the option to select the display protocol at login.
