Noob to Ubuntu... I have a similar problem with a U.S. Robotics USR5637 modem. lsusb and usb-devices both show the device, and dmesg shows it being recognized, however it does not show up in /dev as ttyACM*. Running 21.10 on a Raspberry Pi 4. The device works as expected with 20.04.3 LTS also on a Pi 4. I tried Henrik Dahle's work around of reinstalling fuse simply because he had luck with it, but no joy. The device is also not created with it installed during a reboot.
