Ubuntu 14.04 (trusty) reached end-of-life on April 25,2019. I'm setting this bug to "Incomplete" as it's not seen any activity for some time. If this is still an issue when using a currently maintained release of Ubuntu then please let us know otherwise this bug report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time. ** Changed in: hundredpapercuts Status: Confirmed => Incomplete ** Changed in: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1289428 Title: Dual monitor layout is lost after external display disconnect Status in One Hundred Papercuts: Incomplete Status in gnome-settings-daemon package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I've got a Lenovo ThinkPad T430s laptop. I frequently connect it to external monitors. Upon disconnecting and reconnecting, the dual monitor layout is not restored and must be manually re-configured each time. This is reproducible each time I reconnect to a previously configured external monitor. This may be a regression from Ubuntu 13.10 since I recall it working fine on that release. I'm attaching some screenshots, xrandr output, and my monitors.xml file.
