Hi @osomon, happy to see there is progress with TB and 20.04 ("We’ve decided to update Thunderbird in Ubuntu 20.04 from 68.x to 78.x. This is a major version update. [1]). And as the title of the discourse states it's about the LTS version, does this mean the 78.x version tree is also coming to Ubuntu 18.04 (which by definition [2] is also a LTS version) ?

I've successfully built 78.2.1 against both with forcing nodejs version (20.04, 18.04) and disabling AV1 support due to too old nasm (18.04). Attaching debdiffs here.
