Were you using the snap package? There was a bug briefly in duplicity
that would have caused this error, but it is fixed now. Do you still see
this?

I don’t believe the bug was ever present in Ubuntu 20.04 itself.

Title:
Dejadup fails after upgrading from 18.04 to 20.04

Status in Ubuntu MATE:
  New
Status in deja-dup package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Upgraded from 18.04 to 20.04 using do-release-upgrade. Dejadup now
fails to make backups. Log attached, i think the last line is the
  error.

  "PermissionError: [Errno 13] Permission denied:
  b'/home/morpheus/.config/gnome-mpv/.deja-dup-ignore'

I have checked inside that folder, and there is no hidden file '.deja-
  dup-ignore'
