I have trouble pinpointing the actual problem. Did you want to say "15-25 seconds" instead of "minutes"?
The only unusual behaviour I see in your log is that the very first run of usb_modeswitch takes roughly 40 seconds. Afterwards, everything seems to be fine, modem and storage. I suppose the later disconnect and reconnect was caused by you unplugging and re-plugging the modem, right? It's at 09:50:58. Until then, any tries to connect to internet even if it appears to be ready on system menu or network settings - mobile broadband - results in failure. When I try to connect in that period, the USB mass is ejected and prepared for ready mode automatically after few secs beyond every time. --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu50 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.10 InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-11-05 (1 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.10 "Groovy Gorilla" - Release amd64 (20201022) Package: usb-modeswitch 2.6.1-1ubuntu2 [origin: unknown] PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.8.0-26.27-generic 5.8.14 Tags: groovy third-party-packages Uname: Linux 5.8.0-26-generic x86_64 UnreportableReason: This does not seem to be an official Ubuntu package.
