Public bug reported:

I'm running Ubuntu 20.10, and unlocking the screen takes upwards of 20
seconds. If I switch to the "GNOME on Xorg" session instead of the
"Ubuntu" session, the problem doesn't occur. It's only a problem with
the Ubuntu session, and I've tried disabling extensions, changing theme,
loading fewer apps, etc. The only thing that's made a difference was
switching to the GNOME on Xorg session.

** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
