Public bug reported:

Recently I upgraded from Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS to 20.04 LTS, which is now
running gdm3 version 3.34.1-1ubuntu1.

Before upgrading, "Ubuntu on Wayland" would always be an option for the
drop-down menu at the point I'm prompted to enter my login password.
This is my default setting, since other options do not work with my
display.

Since upgrading, "Ubuntu on Wayland" sometimes appears and sometimes
does not when I boot my machine. I would expect to see this option all
the time. No pattern in appearance has yet been identified. The only
workaround I have for now is to reboot my machine X (usually two or
three) times until "Ubuntu on Wayland" appears.

When I have successfully logged in under "Ubuntu on Wayland", I can see
"WaylandEnable=false" commented out in /etc/gdm3/custom.conf as expected
and I have made no alterations to this file.
