This is what I did: 1. call "banshee --debug > banshee.debug" from a terminal 2. wait until banshee is up 3. put audio CD into drive 4. observe that a CD symbol appears in unity dash (i.e., my CD drive works correctly) 5. obeserve that nothing happens in banshee 6. close down banshee
