Title:
  Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Touchpad (Synaptics TM3096-006) Stopped working
  with kernel 4.15.0-72-generic (Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS))

Bug description:
  So touchpad suddenly stopped working on this laptop i tried booting
  with

  GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="i8042.reset quiet splash"

  and installing

  sudo apt install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

  i think i also tried installing some touchpad software but that didnt
  help as well.

  tried booting the 4.15.0-70-generic kernel (only one available) -
  worked fawlessly..
