X server abort in present_flip_notify

Bug description:
Xorg: ../../present/present.c:489: present_flip_notify: Assertion
`vblank == screen_priv->flip_pending' failed.
I encountered X server abort above many times when changing layout and
resolution of the screens. Though it is quite random. But it is
already fixed in the next X server version 1.19. While Ubuntu 16.04.2
uses X server 1.18.
The patch is

. I tried and it applied cleanly to branch 1.18 and it solved the
issue for my cases.
The patch above contains a reproduction test. Also see
