If I open bluetooth-preferences from the menu, it says "no device connected" (or something similar, I am translating from Italian). Ater searching on the web, I did a chmod 666 /dev/rfcomm: now I instead have a big button saying "Turn on bluetooth", but clicking that will do nothing. The dongle works, as I tested it on Windows and also on Ubuntu, "hcitool scan" correctly finds my cellphone. IIRC I had this problem also with Lucid. My dongles is branded "eXagerate", lsusb says its a "Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode)" ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: gnome-bluetooth 2.30.0-1ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-19.28-generic 2.6.35.3 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-19-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Sep 2 12:20:49 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Alpha amd64 (20100803.1) ProcEnviron: LANG=it_IT.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-bluetooth To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-bluetooth/+bug/628741/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
