It appears we still get crash reports for this from the latest gnome- shell version 3.28.3+git20190124-0ubuntu18.04.1
So it's interesting the bug still doesn't exist in 3.30 and later. It's also interesting there is one crash report from version: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome- shell/3.30.1-2ubuntu1.18.10.2 from bionic. Not from cosmic where that version was targeted.
