The problem has just occurred in a Chrome browser gmail window while composing a new mail.
In mid composition, I left my computer to attend to other matters. When I came back, the screen was locked. Typing the password clearly revealed the plain text in the body of the email, minus the first character. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1805715 Title: password exposed in calculator input box Status in gnome-screensaver package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Plain text Linux user id password exposed in calculator input box.
