HPLIP has "Start menu not found" message when booting on Compaq
Presario 1700 with Ubuntu 9.04

Release: 9.04
On log in get the error "Start Menu not found." Then the HP Printer
tool exits.
It worked fine on previous 8.10 release. It seems to be some sort of
race condition. Probably because of the age of the computer.
