In general, if you build ChromeDriver using source code corresponding to an official stable or beta release of Chrome, it is expected to work correctly with that release of Chrome. I.e., the ChromeDriver built from source for 70.0.3538.45 is expected to work correctly with Chrome version 70.0.3538.45, even though the version number might indicate otherwise. For now, please just ignore the version number in this scenario.
