In general, if you build ChromeDriver using source code corresponding to
an official stable or beta release of Chrome, it is expected to work
correctly with that release of Chrome. I.e., the ChromeDriver built from
source for 70.0.3538.45 is expected to work correctly with Chrome
version 70.0.3538.45, even though the version number might indicate
otherwise. For now, please just ignore the version number in this
scenario.

Title:
  chromium-chromedriver isn't compatible with chromium-browser

Status in chromium-browser package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The current version of chromium-chromedriver (2.30) is simply not
compatible with the chromium-browser version shipped with in this
  package.

It should be updated to 2.33 as it's the only one which correctly
  supports Chromium 61+.
