After more reasearch, found some setting to be changed on all
applications I was trying (mostly changing the *name* of the browser
from 'chromium-browser' to 'chromium').

As such, user error. Closing INVALID.

  [snap] Alt-click "open in browser" does not work from other
  applications

Status in chromium-browser package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  After installing the Chromium snap (in replacement for the deb
  package) I can no longer alt-click and select "Open in browser".

  Work-around: copy the link, and manually paste it to Chromium.
