Thank you for taking the time to help make Ubuntu better. For reference, I'm attaching a screenshot. The proposal is to not require filling out the Volume Name field.
There are several issues with this submission though. 1. Ubuntu policy is that bugs need to be fixed in the current development release before being fixed in a stable release. (In other words, "cosmic" instead of "bionic". 2. If this were targeted to "bionic", please follow the Stable Release Update procedures. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure 3. Since you submitted this to GNOME, it would be really useful for you to have posted a link to that here. https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME /gnome-disk-utility/merge_requests/5 It looks like GNOME will be rejecting this change. On behalf of the Ubuntu Desktop team, I don't see sufficient reason for us to diverge from GNOME on this issue.
