This is not really surprising, as the chromium snap is currently built
from the deb packages. This will soon change (the snap will be rebuilt
entirely from source). If you're willing to test the version built from
source, you can use:
sudo snap refresh chromium --channel=candidate/from-source

Chromium Freezes Upon Adding Folder to Bookmarks Bar

Bug description:
When I try to add a folder to the "Bookmarks bar" in Chromium, the
application freezes and I have to close and re-open Chromium before I
can begin using it again.
Steps to Reproduce:
1) From Chromium's 3-vertical-dot menu, go to "Bookmarks" and select "Show
bookmarks bar".
2) Right-click on an empty section of the "Bookmarks Bar" and click "Add
Folder".
Result:
No dialog comes up, and Chromium freezes
