Title:
  firefox 22 performs slowly intermittently

Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I am currently running Ubuntu 13.04 and today I updated to firefox 22.
Afterwards, the firefox process would jump between ~5% and 99%. Often
it would gray out and then return. When trying to perform any sort of
action (select an item from a firefox drop-down menu), try to navigate
to a web site or search google using the search bar, there would be a
delay of a few seconds before I would see the menu or see the cursor
in the location bar or search bar. I verified that
network.dns.disableIPV6 was set to true and turned off hardware
acceleration, but the performance problems did not go away. I logged
out and logged back in but that didn't help either. I eventually
downgraded to firefox 20 and firefox performed as expected.
