Public bug reported: Assuming lightdm preinstalled in the system, Installing unity does not enable using ubuntu unity desktop.
To get things working, package ubuntu-session needs to be separately installed. To improve installation experience, best to make ubuntu-session a dependency of unity package because there are no other valid combinations like lxsession & unity. ** Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1788345 Title: ubuntu-session not a dependency of unity Status in gnome-session package in Ubuntu: New Status in unity package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Assuming lightdm preinstalled in the system, Installing unity does not enable using ubuntu unity desktop.
