Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.
The programmers have decided not to address this problem. They have
provided an explanation above.
I am clearing up the old thunderbird tickets. I am changing status of the
"thunderbird" portion of this ticket to "won't fix," to match the
"language-selector" portion of this ticket.
Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.

Bug description:
Steps:
1. Change locale to English GB
2. Start language-selector
3. It prompts to install missing packages in English GB
4. The list contains transitional packages of thunderbird, which are not
needed any more since Trusty; thunderbird-locale-en-gb and
thunderbird-locale-en-us
This happens in Ubuntu Xenial and above.
