Public bug reported:

I'm on Debian Stretch. I have a configuration with 2 screens via a
Nvidia card (last Nvidia linux pilote 390.67 installed). My main screen
(wich display all my desktop boards) is set to be over the secondary
screen and I use MATE as desktop environment.

When Gedit is opened in the main screen, I can switch from fullscreen to
window mode without any problem.

But when I have Gedit window in the secondary screen, if the window is
maximized and then I press F11, there is no way back to window mode: If
I press F11 again, Gedit switch to window maximize then imediately
switch back to fullscreen. I insist that if the window is not maximized,
there is no problem.

Also, if I am in maximized window mode and then I try to move the window
(click and drag), Gedit immediately switch to fullscreen.

Also, when I open a Gedit file with my browser, Gedit is launch in the
screen where my browser window is with the exact same mode than in my
last session. So, if I open it in the secondary screen and if I was
locked in fullscreen in my last session, I'm locked again!

** Affects: gedit (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
