Title: Cannot change volume while on logon screen Status in gdm: Expired Status in gdm package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Binary package hint: gdm This is more of a request than a bug. But it makes sense that you should be able to change the volume while on the logon screen. Currently my keyboard shortcuts only become active about halfway through the logon procedure, by which time the Ubuntu startup sound has blasted out to the whole room. This shouldn't be too hard to correct I wouldn't have thought, it's just I have no idea what controls the volume from the keyboard otherwise I could change the boot sequence myself.
