I don't have this bug but I think it is a feature and I want it.

Is there a way to manually modify the lower bound for the brightness
level?

  Able to set brightness to zero

Bug description:
  Using the slider in the status menu I'm able to set the brightness of
  my display to zero. Then the screen is completely black and not
  possible to find the slider again.
