Title:
[needs-packaging] Upstream version 52.5.2 fixes security issues - not
  yet available in Ubuntu-repositories

Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
On December 22, 2017 Mozilla released Thunderbird 52.5.2, fixing five
  security issues:

  https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/advisories/mfsa2017-30/

The most severe of these bugs only affects Windows. However, the
update also addresses two issues categorized as “high”, one
“moderate”, and another one “low” risk, which seem to affect all
platforms including Linux. Almost two weeks later, there is still no
sign of this update arriving in the Ubuntu repositories.
