Pulseaudio crash-alsa spams .xsession-error log

Bug description:
Pulse audio crashes regularly on this sysem - in addition Alsa is
spamming my .xsession-error log with this line:
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:957:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) The dmix plugin supports only
playback stream
My logs grows to be a meg or more in size.
