Title:
pulseaudio very high cpu usage (100% for long periods of time)

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: pulseaudio

pulseaudio has very high cpu usage for long periods of time (minutes
at a time). This happens somewhat frequently but I wasn't able to tie
it to particular circumstances. If I fire up "top" sometimes I see
pulseaudio using 100% cpu (one core actually). All the software mixing
in the world should not cause cpu usage this high. On the latest
occurrence of this issue I was playing internet radio with totem but I
also saw npviewer.bin in the process list.
