This happens somewhat frequently but I wasn't able to tie it to particular circumstances. If I fire up "top" sometimes I see pulseaudio using 100% cpu (one core actually). All the software mixing in the world should not cause cpu usage this high. On the latest occurrence of this issue I was playing internet radio with totem but I also saw npviewer.bin in the process list.
